The family of the late Joseph Alexander Bailey regret to announce his passing on Sunday 27th March 2022. Affectionately known as Joe or Bill, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and dear friend to many. He is survived by his children, Michael, Anna-Lise and Corin, and his grandchildren, Zachary and Zaire. Also left to mourn his passing are his only remaining sibling, Hope, his daughter and son-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, the USA, the United Kingdom and Jamaica, W.I., and many other relatives and friends.
Joseph was a well-known and highly respected Jamaican economist. He spent the larger part of his career contributing to housing finance solutions in Jamaica, as General Manager of the Building Societies Association of Jamaica, and in the wider Caribbean, as Secretary General of the Caribbean Association of Housing Finance Institutions (CASHFI).
Joseph is predeceased by his late wife, Wilma, and siblings Roslyn, Mavis, Dorice, Hugh, Ivan, George, and Llewelyn Sr. His sister, Daphne, passed away on 28th March 2022, one day after his passing.
We will miss him tremendously and remember him always.
A service of thanksgiving for his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday 23rd April 2022 at St. George’s Anglican Church. The service will be live streamed on the St. George’s Facebook page. A private inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Jasmine would be welcomed.
